Step Thru Community Cycling

Step Thru started in 2025 with a simple idea: you shouldn’t need a car to get to a good bike ride, and you shouldn’t need to be fast to enjoy one. They run two types of group rides out of Centretown — Coffee Outside, an ultra-casual no-drop ride (~25km, big coffee break in the middle) and ATB Ride, a longer mixed-terrain ride (30-70km) through the weird and wonderful parts of Ottawa that most people bike right past. All bikes welcome, all levels welcome. Routes are built like a good song — approachable, with peaks and valleys, and hopefully you leave thinking “huh, how have I never been there before?”
Beyond rides, Step Thru runs swap meets and community events. Their whole thing is that cycling culture in Ottawa leans heavily toward performance or commuting, and there’s a gap in between where people just want to ride bikes with good company. They’re filling it.
