Rack à bécik
Atelier collectif de vélo à Gatineau — vélos usagés, pièces et réparation libre-service
Rack à bécik is a volunteer-run co-op in Gatineau. They sell refurbished used bikes ready to ride, accept donations of old bikes and parts, and let you fix your own bike in their workshop using their tools with guidance from volunteer mechanics. They also run hands-on bike mechanics courses if you want to really learn the craft.
How it works
Want to buy a bike? Drop by during open hours and browse their selection of refurbished bikes. They also have used parts and accessories.
Want to fix your own bike? Reserve a repair station at the workshop. Volunteer mechanics are there to help you figure things out — you do the work, they guide you through it. Same spirit as re-Cycles across the river.
Want to donate? Bring in your old bikes, parts, or accessories. What you don't need could get someone else rolling in Gatineau.
Want to learn? They run bike mechanics courses (101 and 102) covering everything from basic maintenance to more advanced repairs. Check their calendar for upcoming sessions.
