Grimpeurs Cycling Club
A welcoming multicultural cycling community in the National Capital Region
A recreational cycling club based in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. The name comes from the French word for "climbers" — a nod to the region's two languages and to the spirit of pushing through the toughest climbs.
The club started in 2021 when a group of friends turned pandemic weekend rides into something more, and was formally founded in May 2022. Today GCC has members from Canada, Colombia, Japan, Ukraine, China, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and El Salvador — what matters is the passion for riding, not where you started.
GCC organizes the GCC Time Trial Series each year (Manotick in May, Wakefield in September), supports members training for triathlons and Ironman races, runs an annual ultrafondo, and hosts an indoor virtual tour series in winter. Volunteers and questions: hello@gcclub.ca
